Kia Extended Warranty

Kia Extended Warranty

One of the two Korean car manufacturers that sell large numbers of vehicles in the United States, Kia Motors has in recent years positioned itself as a bargain alternative to Japanese automakers like Honda and Toyota. The company has greatly improved the quality of its cars since first moving into the U.S. market in the early 1990s and now offers high-quality cars and trucks at a considerable discount to its competitors. Kia now has a significant manufacturing presence in North America centered around the West Point, Georgia manufacturing plant that builts the Optima sedan and Sorrento crossover.

Kia was founding during World War II as a bicycle manufacturer, moving during the 1950s into engine work and then, as the company expanded outside of Korea, into manufacturing complete automobiles. By 1974, Kia had begun developing a competitive product line of passenger sedans and trucks for sale in Asia; during the 1980s, before formally entering the North American market, the company partnered with Ford to produce vehicles including the Ford Festiva and Ford Aspire for sale in the United States.

After moving into the United States in the early 1990s, Kia found success with its Sportage small SUV and Sephia compact sedan. During the 90s, the company battled quality and reliability issues, but quickly found its stride and has gained market share in the United States each year for the past decade. Today, Kia appeals to a wide demographic swath of American society and many of its models routinely top rankings of quality and dependability.

Many of the original Sephias and Sportage cars sold by Kia upon its entry into the U.S. market are still on the road, testifying to the brand’s durability. However, many of these older Kias experience mechanical and repair issues that affect their performance including body and frame corrosion, clutch failures, loss of power steering, worn-out struts and shocks, and exhaust system problems including damaged and broken mufflers.

In addition, Kias driven in severe climates may experience higher-than-usual rates of corrosion, engine clogs, tire and wheel damage including broken axles and tie rods, and brake problems. The good news is that most mechanical breakdowns can be repaired by trained mechanics; the bad news is that this is often costly and time-consuming. To protect against these unforeseen costs, many Kia owners purchase extended warranties on their vehicles to take the surprise out of driving an older car.

Kia extended warranties can be tailored to any budget. Drivers who need protection against catastrophic repair jobs like engine rebuilds and transmission replacements but aren’t worried about other problems can purchase a value warranty at a significant discount. Kia owners who require more peace of mind might prefer comprehensive extended warranties that pay for just about any repair job imaginable, from upholstery work and brake pad replacement to navigation system issues and problems with power windows.

Regardless of which package they decide on, Kia drivers can rest assured that their Kia extended warranty will save them time, stress, and lots of money.
